The only thing Sitka did wrong here was their website ratings: this thing is far warmer than the Equinox Jacket, and warmer than the Fanatic Hoodie as well, even though they rate them the same in warmth. The Equinox Hoodie is practically a jacket that doesn’t have WindStopper technology, and a few other convenience bells and whistles.
It’s the same outer material as the fanatic lite series. The inside it a high loft Berber fleece, with lower loft stretch panels under the arms to the waist. it has an articulated hood that is has a less fleece inside for a smoother fit, built in face mask as well, it can be used with or without the mask.

5/14/2017 · Warmth: My first worry when I purchased the hoody was that it wouldn’t be warm enough for what I wanted.To test this, I wore it shed hunting in February on a thirty degree day, with only the Sitka Gear Core Lightweight Longsleeve on underneath of it. My worry soon went out the door, as I realized it was much warmer than I would have guessed for as light as it was.
I have both but the Equinox Hoody would be for an outer layer and a bit colder temp. The Fanatic Vest would then be a great choice to wear over it in colder weather. So many combo’s to keep us out there all season. Big fan of all the hoody’s light to heavyweight.
